Before real estate, I spent 20 years working for the United Nations, managing finance, procurement, logistics, HR, IT, security, and general services, based long-term in Moldova, Washington DC, the Philippines, and Yemen, with short-term assignments in dozens of other countries. It's the kind of work that teaches you to build systems that hold up under pressure, and to spot risk before it becomes a problem.

I joined the UN because I wanted a career with purpose — to actually help people. But years of constant international travel kept me far from the people I loved most, and while I was still working overseas, I started investing in real estate on the side. I fell in love with it immediately — there's a similar sense of purpose in taking a distressed property and turning it into a home where a family can safely raise their kids and build a life. Baltimore became the obvious choice: my son and his wife live here, and despite Baltimore's old reputation, I've watched it change tremendously over the past decade. I'm proud to be part of that change.

My first Baltimore rental taught me everything the hard way: what to look for, what to avoid, and who I could actually trust. Ten completed deals later, I've built the local knowledge, relationships, and systems that most investors spend years (and expensive mistakes) trying to piece together.

Today, I use that experience to help busy professionals build cash-flowing Baltimore portfolios while avoiding the expensive learning curve I went through myself. I don't have a financial incentive tied to any one lender, contractor, or agent — my only job is to protect your investment, not to push a deal.

I still own and manage my own Baltimore rentals, which means every recommendation I make is one I'd act on myself.
